Session 38

PCs (lvl 10): Alexander, Broch, Levarion, Tarlyn

The party explores more of the Temples of Extraction, facing more undead guardians, evil wizards, and Chosen of the Gods. When they have disrupted enough of the black gates, the way is open to access the Phylactery Vault. The PCs regain their strenghts for one night, and then they enter the Vault.

There they find the sepulchers holding the phylacteries of Szass Tam's most trusted lieutenants. When they manage to pen one of the sepulchers, the Vault's guardian makes his appearance: Kazit Gul, the demilich.

The floating black skull attacks the party with his fearsome magical abilities. After a dangerous fight the PCs succeed in defeating the demilich, retrieving the shining object embedded in one of his eye sockets: one of the seven coins of Shadowthrone, God of Death.

With the coin in their hands, a magical portal opens up in Vault. As they've done many times in the past, they cross the portal, and find themselves once again in Sigil, in the Yawning Portal tavern.
