Session 5

Sharwyn, Belak, and Sir Braford
PCs (lvl 3): Ella, Endrill, Skrolk, Sshisah, Tarlyn

The PCs fight more goblin guards until they reach a room with a broken-down wall, giving access to a complex of caverns.

Inside the caverns are several twig blights hiding among dead shrubs, and the ruins of an ancient compound. More importantly, the cave is dominated by a dead-looking tree, the infamous Gulthias Tree, guarded by the evil druid Belak and his dominated pawns Sharwyn and Braford.

Belak tries to convince the PCs to surrender, but all he achieves is a burning death for himself and his minions. From his charred remains the PCs recover the first coin of the god of death, a round piece of brass marked with the throne and the skull. Sshisah attunes to it, receiving the blessing (and the curse) of Shadowthrone.

The PCs return to the upper levels of the citadel, where Skrolk decides to remain with the local kobold tribe for a few days in order to "save" Calcryx, the white dragon wyrmling, from the kobold's torments.

The others return to the town of Oakhurst, where they make an interesting discovery. When Sshisah approaches the entrance to the local tavern, the doorway becomes a portal to "another place", apparently triggered by the presence of the brass coin. After briefly discussing the implications of leaving Skrolk behind, the party decides to enter the portal without the kobold.

They find themselves in a much bigger tavern, populated by adventurers of many different races, from elves to dwarves, from tieflings to aasimars. The owner of the tavern, Durnan, approaches the PCs.

"Welcome to the Yawning Portal!"

Session 4

Balsag the bugbear
PCs (lvl 2): Ella, Endrill, Skrolk, Sshisah, Tarlyn

The PCs descend down the shaft, finding themselves inside a vast room filled with a mushroom garden. Working with shovels and picks are several animated skeletons. The PCs destroy the undead and leave the room.
Exploring the underground complex, the PCs notice that mushrooms, lichens, and fungi are ever-present, together with the servants of the evil druid Belak: goblins, bugbears, undead creatures, and even an elemental snake made of solid fire roam the ancient halls, harrassing the PCs at every turn.
The PCs discover a horrific laboratory where beasts are infected with a magical disease that turns them into plant creatures. More mushrooms gardens fill the chambers once devoted to the dragon gods, covering the statues and the altars once tended by the faithful.

Session 3

Calcryx the wyrmling
PCs (lvl 2): Ella, Endrill, Sshisah, Tarlyn

The PCs explore more of the rooms inhabited by the goblin, eventually finding a trophy room. Hiding in this chamber is a white dragon wyrmling, the stolen dragon of the kobold tribe. The PCs subdue the beast, and return it to Yusdrail.

The kobold leader keeps her word, and uses her magic key to open the dragon door that the PCs found near the entrance of the citadel. Beyond the door, they find the tomb of an ancient dragonpriest. When they open the main sarcophagus, they find the body of a troll, kept intact by powerful magic. the troll awakens and attacks. The PCs survive the fight, but they are in need of some rest.

Having recovered their strength, they continue their exploration, reaching the throne room of the gobling chieftain, who is in fact a warlike hobgoblin. The PCs ambush the hobgoblin and his retinue, and manage to kill or subdue all the enemies without too much trouble. The room is dominated by a wide shaft, its sides coated with sickly white vines.

Session 2

Erky Timbers, gnome cleric of Pelor
PCs (lvl 1): Ella, Endrill, Skrolk, Sshisah, Tarlyn

The PCs follow the kobold Meepo to the goblin's territory. They encounter a couple of magical fountains, vestiges of the powerful magic once permeating the citadel.

In a dark, stinky room, they fight more giant rats, and they even manage to kill a bloated monstrosity of a rat as big as a man. The fight proves them greatly, and they decide to rest in the room and continue their exploration the day after.

They eventually come into contact with the goblins, killing them mercilessy. They find a prison area where they release a group of kobolds and a gnome by the name of Erky Timbers.

Erky tells the PCs that the goblins take orders from a spellcaster called Belak. He has heard that Belak tends an evil tree the goblins call the Gulthias Tree, deep under the citadel. As a way of thanking the PCS for saving him, Erky follows them in their exploration of the citadel.

The PCs find a room guarded by skeletons, and containing an altar dedicated to evil gods. From the altar they recover a few magical trinkets, among them the Night Caller, a magical whistle with dark powers.

Session 1

Yusdrayl, leader of the kobolds
PCs (lvl 1): Ella, Endrill, Skrolk, Sshisah, Tarlyn

The PCs are in the Shadowfell, in the realm of Shadowthrone, god of death. They meet with the Keeper of Oaths, servant of Shadowthrone. They seal a pact with him, and are maked with the symbol of the god. The task ahead of them is clear, to recover 7 coins imbued with the god's power. With those coins, they'll be able to "pay the price" and be granted their heart's desire.

The Keeper opens a portal behind them, and sends them back to the Prime Material Plane, on the world of Oerth. They reach the town of Oakhurst, where they learn of a ruin called the "Sunless Citadel". Intrigued by it, they travel to the ravine where it is said the citadel was cast down into.

They climb down the ravine, and find the entrance to the citadel. Inside, they face a few traps and ravenous rats, until they meet a community of kobolds. They are brought to the leader of these creature, and forge an alliance of sorts. They will help the kobolds recover their "pet" dragon, kidnapped by a band of goblin sharing the same dungeon. In exchange, the kobolds will deliver to them a key to access the most holy rooms of the citadel.
