In the great hall the party must contend with three duergar, dark dwarves with the magical ability to turn invisible and grow to large size. Having defeated these enemies, they continue their exploration.
They peek into a working forge, where more duergar are toiling, but decide to avoid confrontation.
In the kitchens, they're assaulted by the furniture itself, as a table animates to charge into them. Probably some sort of guardian put in place by the dwarves of Khundrukar many years before.
They then find a desecrated shrine, where the remains of two ogres and an orc, invaders from many years back, raise as undead to feed on their life. The PCs defeat also these monsters, but all the fights have taken their toll. They decide to camp in the room for a short rest.
But the duergar are not idle. Under the cover of invisibility, two duergar warriors led by a spellcaster ambush the PCs. When the two warriors fall to the party's might and magic, the spellcaster surrenders.
